Zane

My husband and I were always afraid of having a special needs child, but God had a very different plan. Zane came into our lives and everything changed. Our fear melted away and all we knew was pure unconditional love. Having a child with autism is like running a marathon every day never knowing when or if you will ever reach the end.
Yet, even among our hardest days, we feel blessed that Zane is a part of our lives. He is sweet and funny and has the best, most contagious laugh ever. He brings so much joy to those who know him. Zane has changed me and our entire family and made all of us better people. He has taught us more in three short years than most people learn in a lifetime. We rejoice in the smallest accomplishments, things that most parents take for granted. We celebrate his quirkiness because he is one of a kind. And we recognize that sometimes miracles don't happen overnight, but rather over time when one day you can look back and see how far you've come.
